If your bottle is dripping, hard to close properly, or no longer watertight, it isn't always the bottle itself that's at fault. Most of the time the problem is a small, inexpensive part: the cap or its seal.
Here's how to tell which one you need to replace, and how to find the right spare part.
Signs the cap needs replacing
- It's harder to close than before, or doesn't sit tight anymore
- It has faded or cracked on the outside
- The opening mechanism (screw, click, or spout) is stiff or not working properly
With daily use, it's normal for the cap to wear out before the body of the bottle does. You don't need to replace the whole bottle — just that piece.
Why the seal is the part that fails most
The seal is the rubber ring that makes the closure watertight, and by far the most sensitive part of the whole bottle.
- It loses flexibility over time, especially with frequent dishwasher use
- It can deform from heat or harsh detergents
- If it dries out or shifts out of place, it stops sealing even if the cap is screwed on tight
It's a small part, but it's responsible for most of the leaks that seem like "the bottle's fault".
How to find the right spare part for your LAKEN bottle
Each bottle line (Classic™, Summit™, Futura™, Jannu™, Flow™, Oasis™...) has its own matching cap and compatible seal. Check your bottle's model and look for the matching cap or seal in our spare parts section: it's faster and cheaper than replacing the whole bottle, and it extends its life for years to come.
Tip from the LAKEN team
Check the cap and seal every few months, especially if your bottle goes through the dishwasher often. Replacing them in time prevents leaks, bad odours, and extends your bottle's life far beyond what most people expect.
