Your bottle in summer: mistakes you should avoid

Tu botella en verano: errores que debes evitar

In summer, keeping water cold is not always easy.

Often it’s not the bottle’s fault, but how we use it. Small mistakes can make the water heat up quickly or the bottle not perform as it should.

We tell you the most common ones and how to avoid them.

1. Leaving the bottle in the sun

It may seem obvious, but it is one of the most common mistakes.

Leaving the bottle exposed to the sun, even for a short time, makes the liquid inside heat up much faster, even in thermal bottles.

Solution: keep it in the shade, inside a backpack, or cover it with a piece of clothing.

2. Not using a thermal bottle when you need one

In summer, especially if you are at the beach, mountains, or doing sports, a non-thermal bottle will heat up quickly.

Solution: if you will be out for several hours, choose a stainless steel thermal bottle. It will keep the water cold much longer.

3. Filling it only with cold water (without ice)

Cold water helps, but in intense heat conditions, it is not enough.

Solution: add ice. Also, if your bottle has a wide mouth, you can easily add ice cubes and greatly improve thermal performance.

4. Constantly opening the bottle

Every time you open the bottle, warm air enters and the cold is lost.

Solution: avoid opening it unnecessarily and close the cap tightly after each use.

5. Not filling the bottle completely

A half-empty bottle contains more air, and that air heats up.

Solution: fill it to the top whenever you can to better maintain the temperature.

6. Using an inappropriate cap

The type of cap influences more than it seems.

Some allow more temperature exchange if they are not properly closed or if used incorrectly.

Solution: make sure to close the cap tightly and use one suitable for your needs.

7. Not cleaning the bottle properly

In summer, with the heat, any residue can cause bad odors or affect the user experience.

Solution: clean your bottle regularly, especially the cap and the seal.

LAKEN team tip

In summer, the key is not just the bottle, but how you use it.

Choosing the right material, size, and cap helps, but maintaining good habits makes the difference between drinking fresh water or ending up with warm water in a few hours.
