After the success of the 2024 Formula Kite European Championship, the waters of the Mar Menor are once again filled with sails, hope, and talent with the celebration of the 470 Junior World Championship in Los Alcázares (Murcia). And, as expected, at LAKEN we wanted to be present once again.
An event with an Olympic outlook

Although it is a youth competition, this World Championship represents a key moment in the new Olympic cycle. The young crews competing these days are not only fighting for a title, but are also competing for their spot at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
Spain, for example, has made a strong commitment to this regatta to select its future talents. And with the presence of more than 20 countries, excitement has been high in the Murcian waters.
Sustainability and local commitment

At LAKEN, we firmly believe in sport as a driver of values, but also as a way to promote responsible habits. That is why, as we did in 2024, we have been the first brand in the Region of Murcia to support this sustainable sailing event.
In a natural environment as sensitive as the Mar Menor, commitment to the environment is not optional but essential. And initiatives like this —organized by the Mar Menor Yacht Club and Univela, together with entities such as EUROSAF and the CAR of the Region of Murcia— demonstrate that it is possible to organize high-level competitions without giving up respect for the environment.
LAKEN, closer to the sport that matters
Watching these young talents compete with passion, hope, and camaraderie is truly inspiring. That is why, at LAKEN, we will continue supporting the sport that cares, that unites, that builds a better future.
And we will do so as we know best: by committing to sustainability, local talent, and proudly carrying the name of Murcia wherever great stories are made.
