The Wara Wara Community Schools Project is a Sierra Leonean organization that aims to improve primary education for children in Sierra Leone. A fantastic project that Laken joins this year to contribute to the well-being of children, their teachers and volunteers.

Sierra Leone is a country historically affected by various causes, some natural and others not, with a very high poverty rate. It is also a beautiful country, rich in resources and inhabited by happy, optimistic and hard-working people, always looking for a better future.

The Wara Wara Community Schools Project

Aware of this situation, a decade ago, a group of Spanish and local volunteers created The Wara Wara Community Schools Project, with the aim of increasing the quality of education for children in the country. To do this, they work both on improving the facilities where the children go to class, creating them from scratch when necessary, furnishing them, equipping them with wells and latrines... as well as helping to train teachers. And they always do it in close collaboration with the villagers of each place, using the local resources available and contributing those that the community does not have. One of the fundamental pillars of the operation of the Wara Wara Schools is community work.

The honour to be able to help

For a few weeks, Laken has been a collaborator on the project. We have provided various materials to equip children, teachers and volunteers from these communities and thus improve, as far as possible, their living conditions. A beautiful collaboration that fills us all with pride and, above all, with hope.

Here you have a few images and a video about our contribution:

Thank you all, and especially Coco and Bárbara, for making it possible!
