WE MANUFACTURE BETTER

We take care of the manufacturing processes of our products from the beginning to the end, during their entire life cycle. Thus, we comply with our own requirements, and with the most rigorous European environmental standards.

100% POST-CONSUMER RECYCLED ALUMINUM (PCR)

As we have said many times before, aluminium is a 100% recyclable material that can be recycled an almost unlimited number of times. So why not make our bottles from recycled aluminium, and thus complete the circle?

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS<

May 2022

We completed the first part of a photovoltaic installation with which we estimate to provide, during the next year, the equivalent to 50% of all the energy consumed in 2021.

October 2021

We start manufacturing our aluminium bottles with 100% post-consumer recycled aluminium (PCR).

1st Semester 2021

We installed an Industrial Water Recovery Plant

We managed to reduce 90% of the use of plastics in the packaging and labelling of our products

REDUCE

You don\'t need to buy a lot of bottles, you need to buy a bottle, and make it last. In Laken, we make them resistant and durable and we have many spare parts to extend their product life, so you REDUCE the purchase of more products and save money, energy, raw materials...

REUSE

All our products are RE-USABLE. By using them, you collaborate with the care of the environment, because you avoid using DISPOSABLE products, which quickly end up in the garbage or, even worse, in the sea.

RECYCLE

100% of the materials we use in our products are RECYCLABLE. When you want to get rid of them, you can deposit them in the corresponding container or benefit from our RENEWAL PLAN. You send them to us, we recycle them and you enjoy an interesting discount on your next purchase.

WE MANUFACTURE BETTER<

We take care of all phases of the production process, from the selection of suppliers to the recycling of materials at the end of the process, to continue minimizing the environmental impact of the company\'s activity and, thus, contributing to its sustainability:

Several certifications guarantee our good work in many of these phases

Our Environmental Management System has been implemented and certified by AENOR in accordance with UNE-EN ISO 14001 standard without interruption since 2012. We are also certified by IQNet (The International Certification Network) for the same standard.

Our Quality Management System has been implemented and certified by AENOR in accordance with UNE-EN ISO 9001 standard without interruption since 2012. We are also certified by IQNet (The International Certification Network) for the same standard.

We follow the Integrated Management System of Ecoembes.

We are members of EOCA European Outdoor Conservation Association.

100% recycled aluminium (PCR)<

Since October 2021, we are making history, we are manufacturing our aluminium bottles with 100% recycled aluminium (PCR – post-consumer recycled). Both for our company, for being the first time that we use recycled material as raw material to manufacture one line of products; and for the whole of Europe, for being the only manufacturer of aluminium bottles in the European Union that manufactures them with recycled aluminium; and for the environment, for the number of benefits that this change provides; we are very proud to have set such an important milestone in the reusable bottles manufacturing sector.

Environmental benefits of manufacturing bottles with 100% post-consumer recycled aluminium:

55 % less CO2 emissions in the procurement of the raw material

95 % less energy consumed in the production of the raw material (compared to that consumed in the production of primary aluminium)

Reuse of an enormous amount of waste that cannot be reused by the consumer. Unlike other materials, aluminium can be recycled an almost unlimited number of times

- Reduced extraction and processing of the pure material

As our suppliers are local, from Germany and Slovenia, the footprint of raw material transportation is kept to a minimum

In short, we are making a much more sustainable product. With the same quality and durability as always, with the same design as always, but with an infinitely lower environmental impact.

40 years working with ASSIDO

ASSIDO is an Association for People with Down Syndrome that develops multiple training and work integration programs, among other things. At Laken, we have been working with them for several decades. Training them, giving them the opportunity to get in contact with the working world and, above all, enriching us with their sympathy, their commitment and that wonderful joy with which they face each new working day and that is a fabulous example to follow for the rest of the staff.

ACCEM's "Here we partner with diversity" award

ACCEM is an NGO that works to improve the quality of life of refugees through DIVEM, its program on cultural diversity in companies. This year, Laken has been proudly awarded this distinction, which recognizes its good business practices in terms of cultural diversity. One more small step towards achieving several goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
